Celebrities are doing it, now Cheshires doing it. Suddenly, wigs have come in from the cold and far from being the wearers guilty secret, many ladies are happy to admit they are making the most of this accessory.

Thats the view of Rayna Campbell from Trafford. Rayna, who was born and raised in the North West, is an actress, screenwriter and owner of her own Wig company, Ladies Love Lace (LLL). With voluptuous, tressled long locks being the height of fashion right now Rayna is a local saviour with all the ingredients at her fingertips for the current look of a full style.

With an already established local clientele - ranging from Knutsford to Warrington in the age group 18-40 year olds - it is clear these wigs are becoming popular. Wigs have had their ups and downs but right now they are heading straight for respectability. But if you want to keep it under your hat, no-one can tell its a wig so no-one has to know, which is the big selling point of these lace wigs.

Rayna said: I work privately with clients in Manchester and London as Im based in the two cities. My clients are mainly actresses, models, hair loss sufferers, radiotherapy patients or those who simply want a change of length or colour. I also work with the Breast Cancer Support Charity Look good, Feel Better and I donate sales of wigs to their causes.

Lace wigs are worn by celebrities such as Gwen Stefani, Beyonce, John Travolta and are now available here in the UK'

'I have had guest roles on Casualty, The Bill, Trial and Retribution, Doctors and the BBC'S afternoon plays as well as appearing in theatre and so I came across lace wigs to give my hair a rest from the constant styling that I undergo as a performer. I trained in lace wig design with a master wig maker in the USA and I set up my company two years ago.

The hair in the wigs is matched to the clients own. We use Indian remy, Brazilian and Moldovian hair. The lace is matched to the wearers complexion and it looks as though the hair is coming out of the wearers head, thus they are much better than traditional hair extensions. You can swim and shower with these wigs on, put them up in a high pony tail while allowing your hair to rest underneath. The wigs stay secure for six weeks without coming off, says Rayna.

Hair extensions are currently popular but wigs offer the look without the hassle of matted or shedding hair. These lace wigs stay on for six weeks at a time and you can use the same hair for up to a year.

Rayna conducts a mobile service to a clients home. She will take a head cast and measurements because nearly all of her wigs are customized. She sends the template to China. Then a strand test is done to the hair and the wig is ready to fit to the head.

A percentage of profits from the Brazilian hair wigs goes to the Look Good Feel Better Charity which run beauty workshops and give free skincare products helping cancer patients with self-esteem and confidence problems.
