Guests at the launch event for the Bolesworth Castle Showjumping Classic and Country Fair at Tattenhall were treated to a sample of the excitement to come during July 15th-18th.
The organisers of the prestigious event have lined up a packed schedule and over 15,000 visitors are expected. There will be a wide variety of contested show-jumping classes, including the new Volkswagen Bolesworth Castle Evening Grand Prix, which will put event riders and show-jumpers head to head in battle for a 58,000 prize fund.
Oliver Townend, British eventing team member, who opened the new event said: The show is fast becoming a fixture for many professional show jumpers due to its great atmosphere and challenging courses. With this new class being introduced it gives us eventers the chance to prove ourselves.
Also in attendance will be celebrity chef, Brian Mellor. He will be hosting the Chef Stage with guests who will help him cook live in front of the crowds.
For dog-lovers at the event in Tattenhall, there will be pedigree and novelty classes, Have a Go Dog Agility with displays of obedience and ability from Lancashire Rescue Bears Newfoundland Training Group. Providing a touch of celebrity will be Britains Got Talent stars Kate Nicholas and her clever border collie Gin.
Nina Barbour, show director and host of the show which is held on her familys private Bolesworth Castle estate said: Every year the show grows in popularity and we get one step closer to our long-term goal of becoming a key international event. We are attracting some of the best UK and Irish showjumping talent and with the continued support shown by riders, sponsors and the visitors it wont be long before we see our goal achieved.
Geoff Billington also added his support: This is a great show for the North West of England and with the prize money on offer I am hoping that this year I will be winning the Grand Prix.
