Craig Henton of Medical Hair Retention Clinic in Knutsford loves his job, but he also values his free time with friends and family. Craig lives in Altrincham and here’s what he likes to do in his spare time.
Who or what has been the biggest influence on your business?
My first MD in textiles: how he put the staff and team first when the industry struggled under hard times made a big impression on me. It made me want to work for myself but at the same time to put staff and clients first to provide what they need and deserve, over and above greed and wealth.
Which major national or international brand do you most admire and why?
Ann Summers. Jacqueline Gold, the chief executive of Ann Summers (lingerie and sex toys) brings delight to millions of couples while being the 16th richest woman in Great Britain!
On the rare occasion you get to go out for lunch with a client where in Cheshire do you head?
There are so many great places to pick from here but I do have one top favourite. I love Victor’s Of Hale for its great, diverse menu. Alternatively, I do love hearty rustic British food.
If you weren’t earning your living doing this, what would be your dream job?
I really have a passion for Spanish cured Iberian Jamon and I imported it, initially for myself and friends, but since then have set up a small import and wholesale company to supply farm/deli shops and restaurants as well as ecommerce.
What do you do on your weekend off?
Life is all about balance and my loved ones, friends and family are and always have taken precedence over work, so I always go out of my way to ensure everyone spends time together.
What’s your favourite holiday location?
St Anton, Austria, for ski and apres; New York for a city break and rural Spain for the sun, its culture and easy trips away.
What’s the best book you’ve ever read?
I have to be honest and admit that I don’t often read books. I prefer current affairs and the news. That said, when on lazy holidays I’ll usually read a good biography of someone with an inspiring life.
Your favourite film and why?
Oh so many, and I’m sure you’ve heard it all before. Blade Runner, Pulp Fiction, the Bourne Series and Scarface are all up there. But True Romance has to take the top spot. I think it has all the essentials for a gripping film.
