Calendar Girls of Winsford and Northwich bare all for 2013

It's nude but not rude. This charming calendar produced by ladies from Winsford and Northwich has turned out rather well...just like their carefully placed buns and cakes Words by Jenny Leigh Photography by Helen Venables
These bold ladies are not the first to be inspired by the original calendar girls from Yorkshire by posing nude, their modesty protected only by strategically placed buns and household objects.
But their enthusiasm for the project and the good taste they show in choosing to cover Miss Augusts embonpoint with an issue of the countrys finest magazine, (Cheshire Life, of course) means the ladies deserve a little help from us in their campaign.
The ladies shed their clothes and inhibitions, not just for fun, but with a similar aim in mind to the ladies of Rylstone in the Yorkshire Dales whose novel approach to fundraising led to a film starring Helen Mirren and worldwide fame.
After being deeply saddened by the death of a friend, Pauline Mills, the Cheshire ladies decided to raise money for St. Lukes Hospice in Winsford, in this humorous way.
The Pink Ladiesas they call themselves, enlisted the help of trusted photographer Helen Venables who took all the carefully staged pictures on this page and for the rest of the 2013 calendar.
Camilla Thomas said that shooting the calendar was fun, but the hard work begins now: The calendars will be for sale in Sainsburys in Northwich on 26th and 27th October. We will also be selling them at some events organised by St Lukes and at other locations in Cheshire during November and December. We will be out in force wearing our bathrobes, high heels and pink umbrellas. We will be asking for a minimum donation of 5 per calendar.
If you want to support the Pink Ladies and St Lukes Hospice, you can buy a calendar by ringing Jackie Ellis on 07939 978132.
