Alexandra Burke flicks the switch at Cheshire Oaks and lights the UK's tallest Christmas Tree
Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet launched the festive season in style as ten thousand people witnessed one of the UKs biggest pop stars and fashion icons, Alexandra Burke, switch on the Christmas lights and welcome Christmas to the North West
At over 90 feet tall, Britains tallest Christmas tree is home to 80,000 baubles and 100,000 lights. The biggest tree lighting event in the UK and a must-go event in the social calendar, Alexandra Burke followed in the footsteps of chart topping stars The Wanted, Shayne Ward, The Saturdays, Eliza Doolittle and Basshunter.
Alexandra was joined in the flicking of the switch by a whole host of other music acts, including X Factors most recent boy-wonders, The Risk, fellow contestant Sophie Habibis and the 2009 winner, Joe McElderry. Up-and-coming boyband Eli Prime, and Liverpool singer Chelcee, also helped in lighting Britains biggest Christmas tree.

As well as chart-topping performances, visitors to this years tree lighting were treated to exclusive promotions, money-cant-buy prizes and a fireworks extravaganza.
