Only a year ago Wirral West MP Esther McVey launched an inspirational book to help teenage girls fulfil their potential. Now the book If Chloe Can has been turned into a play by the National Youth Theatre in London.

Its premiere was staged in November at the Lyric Theatre Shaftesbury Avenue in the West End.Esther took some of the young stars to No 10 Downing Street to meet Prime Minister David Cameron and some of the high-achieving women who inspired her to put pen to paper.

Among the guests were ice skating star Jayne Torvill, Jo Salter who was the first woman fighter pilot and Debbie Moore, the first female to establish a PLC.The book was distributed for free across Wirral aimed at 11-13 year-old girls to encourage them to follow their ambitions.

In essence, it is about giving girls positive and varied female role models who are successful in a broad range of professional areas, said Esther. Now she hopes the dramatisation will take the message to a wider audience.
