Rain did stop play at a celebrity cricket match at Cholmondeley Castle, sponsored by Baker Tilly. But the weather did not dampen the fun, nor the success of the occasion, which raised over £20,000 for the Lords Taverners' charitable work.

The visitors team was captained by Mike Watkinson, former Lancashire and England player, while Chris England captained the Lords Taverners team that included TV presenter Nick Hancock and famous faces from the world of cricket, football and journalism.

Adam Partridge from TVs Flog It conducted the auction which included several luxury prizes and an England cricket bat signed by the current team.

The Lords Taverners - who raise money for young people, particularly those with special needs - are already planning next summers Cholmondeley cricket day.
