The Land Information Assurance Group, Specialist Group Royal Signals held an annual mess dinner at Chester Castle.

The Land Information Assurance Group, Specialist Group Royal Signals held an annual mess dinner at Chester Castle.


Formed in 1999, they are a Territorial Army unit of cyber security specialists who deploy worldwide on behalf of the MOD to all locations where British forces operate.

The LIAG Partners Dinner is organised by the LIAG PMC (President of the Mess Committee) to thank wives and husbands of LIAG officers for their support.The current PMC, Major Noel Hannan, is a former Cheshire Regiment soldier from Crewe. He was proud to host this years dinner in Chester Castle, home of the Cheshire Regiment.


They recently had ministerial endorsement from the Rt Hon Francis Maude MP to increase in size from 50 to form the core of a much larger cyber reserve in the near future and they are actively recruiting.


Major Noel Hannan said: Present at the dinner was Wg Cdr Gavin Hellard, the husband of Lt Col Sue Hellard, a LIAG officer. Gavin is also a reservist like us and is actively involved in the development of enhanced RAF reserve recruitment in the North West.
