A grand masked ball was held at the Mercure Hotel in Manchesters Piccadilly to raise money for Cancer Care Therapies at The Christie Hospital.

One of the organisers Linda Orrett explained: We organised the ball to raise funds for the Complementary Therapy Team which is charity funded. Cancer Care Therapies hopes to keep raising money for the team which provides services like acupuncture, massage and other treatments which aid relaxation and help patients deal with stress and anxiety.

Guests at the glamorous event enjoyed a drinks reception and dinner. Entertainment included a performance by singer Rowetta from the Happy Mondays and comedy from Will Duggan.
