It’s been an action packed year in Cheshire, how much of it can you remember?
We’ve certainly had a busy 2017 at Cheshire Life and we know you have had an eventful year too. The year has been filled with major celebrations, anniversaries and landmarks and it has been huge fun to document what everyone has been doing in our wonderful county. If you’ve been regular visitor to our website, then this quiz shouldn’t pose any problems for you.
With a series of major investments in the county set for completion in 2017, we entered the year full of hope and expectation. One such project was the £1 billion Red Rock development in Stockport that we previewed in January and has now officially opened.
The summer was filled with festivals and concerts, we returned to our favourite summer events of the year with the Royal Cheshire Show which gained its special status last year as fun as ever; and the RHS Tatton Flower Show still hosting one of the best horticultural shows in the UK, we look forward to see what they have planned for their 20th anniversary in 2018.
Every year we celebrate the talents of local people and 2017 was no exception. In July, we hosted our annual Food and Drink Awards at Carden Park and in the Autumn we announced the winner of our Cheshire Life reader photo competition in partnership with Wilkinsons Cameras; 67 year old Sylvie Davies won top prize with his shot of Audlem, proving that you should never discourage yourself from taking up a new hobby.
In the tail end of the year we helped you celebrate festive fun across the county. We took a look at the great work that the Toy Appeal in Knutsford do for local children and we explored why Chester has become one of the top destinations for Christmas in the country.
Our website was viewed over a million times in 2017 and we look forward to seeing even more of you pay us a visit in 2018.
Have a great new year.
