A glittering line-up of famous alumni attended the Kings School Former Pupils Association Dinner. Cricket coach Peter Moores spoke at the event and Olympic gymnast Jenni Pinches was honoured with a special prize.

They were joined by more than 100 other former pupils at Adlington Hall Hunting Lodge for the event, which also raised over 1,000 for the Kings Bursary Fund.

Dr Simon Hyde, headmaster at the Macclesfield school, said: Peter and Jenni exemplify exactly what you have to do to get to the very top of your chosen sport. Not only have they got an abundance of natural talent, but they have applied their intelligence and character to develop that talent to its full potential.
