Year 11 students at Hillcrest Grammar School, near Stockport, celebrated the end of an era as they partied at the Alma Lodge Hotel.

The GCSE group from the Cale Green independent school welcomed back their former geography teacher Mandy Butterworth who has since gone to teach in Dubai, but made a special trip back home to celebrate with a year group that she did so much to influence.

Mandy said: Theyre a great set of kids and I just wanted to give them a
genuine send off.

Now Dean of Students at the Emirates International School, Mandy added: I have to say the students are great wherever you teach but in Dubai I
can finish work and go to the beach. Its a bit different to life in South
Manchester.

Headmaster Jack Williams said: It is a testament to the fabulous spirit at
Hillcrest that Mandy should choose to make the trip home to be at this special event.
