A fine finale
The curtain came down on the season of outdoor shows at Gawsworth Hall with a performance of the Mozart opera Cosi Fan Tutte. The production, by Opera Project, was well attended in spite of poor weather.
Jonny Richards, from Gawsworth hall, said: There was a terrific atmosphere. People brought their gazebos along and just soldiered on. We have had a wonderful programme of events in the grounds this year.
Gawsworth was home to last professional jester in Britain, Maggoty Johnson, and some modern day comics provided other highlights for Jonny. The comedy nights with John Bishop, Jimmy Carr and Ken Dodd were marvellous, they really had people rocking with laughter.
The next major event at Gawsworth Hall is the annual festive celebration, Christmas at Gawsworth, which will be held from December 12th-16th.
