Over 380 diners attended the black tie event to boost the charity which is raising funds for a trip to Disneyworld in October for 75 poorly and deserving children from the North West region. Generous guests raised around 90,000 towards the cost of the holiday.

Fundraising manager Ann Billington said: We are, once again, overwhelmed by the warmth and generosity of our many loyal supporters towards Destination Florida. This will make a huge difference to the lives of many sick and deserving children from our region.

The support of so many celebrities including Denise Welch, David Fleeshman, Michael LeVell and Kym Marsh headlining the cabaret made the evening very lively and once again a memorable occasion, she said.

During the fun, Mike Hymanson, chair of trustees, acknowledged the privilege he enjoyed as a carrier of the Olympic torch as a representative of Destination Florida.
