Glam up your casuals, add a designer handbag and a pair of sunnies and head off to this Cheshire hot spot for a lovely day of indulgence

Ahhh the bling capital of the north lives up to its reputation for champagne and fast cars and so makes the perfect place to hang out and enjoy a soupcon of glam and sophistication. Movers and shakers live here because of the excellent shops, bars and restaurants but there’s, beautiful countryside and a great sense of community to enjoy here too.

10.30am: We’re not getting up too early.

After all this is Wilmslow, part of Cheshire’s “Golden Triangle” of affluence and we want to look hot (plus we may need extra zeds to sleep of a few glasses of champagne from the night before). Coffee is a good start to the day, so join Wilmslow’s cafe society and watch the world go by.

11.30am: Explore the high street.

Wilmslow has a tremendous range of independent shopping and high end high street. Here’s the place to shop for designerwear at Black, White, Denim, Caroline Charles and Lola, young fashion and high street labels of some quality such as Jaeger and Phase Eight. A great place to pick up a wedding outfit of mother of the bride ensemble, or shop for your wedding dress.

1pm: Stop for lunch.

It’s easy to get into a kind of holiday frame of mind in Wilmslow where many of the restaurants have a continental air. Mediterranean favourites like pasta, pizza and tapas compliment the lunchtime ambience rather well, so prop your oversized sunglasses on your head and peruse the menu while sipping a glass of fizz!

2.30pm: Time for more shopping.

As well as independents Wilmslow has its own famous Hoopers department store which is something of an institution. It’s another fantastic place for fashion and has a top notch beauty hall. Head upstairs for tea and scones if you want to mix with the ladies and gentlemen of Cheshire. Head to the delightful interiors shops, or buy someone a gift. Browse and enjoy.

4pm: Slow down the pace a little and indulge in a pampering session.

It isn’t only the women who want to look good and the town has plenty of places to get everything from a manicure to a full facelift (not that we are suggesting you get one of those on impulse!). For those who want to speed things up a bit the Stratstone dealership is the place to do it. They are an official Ferrari dealer and (we are only guessing here) are where you’re likely to spot a premiership footballer or major league business-person.
