'Meal of Your Life' dinner in aid of East Cheshire Hospice, Mere Golf and Country Club

Five award-winning local chefs cooked up a treat for 210 guests at a glamorous 'Meal of Your Life' dinner in aid of East Cheshire Hospice at Mere Golf and Country Club.

Five award-winning local chefs cooked up a treat for 210 guests at a glamorous Meal of Your Life dinner in aid of East Cheshire Hospice at Mere Golf and Country Club.


The dinner, arranged in association with Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets, raised over 25,000 to the delight of everyone in the room. Auctioning off private dining experiences by chefs Aiden Byrne and David Gale boosted the auction total considerably, with further prizes also provided by Manchester City player Vincent Kompany, Bentley motor company and Hammonds of Knutsford.


Welcomed by a Tripleberryfizz cocktail, specially created by Piccolino of Knutsford, diners enjoyed five delicious courses each designed by a different chef. The seasonal menu of local produce was accompanied by a specially selected wine to complement each course.


Fiona Morris, Chief Executive of the Macclesfield-based hospice, said: We are so grateful to Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets for supporting us. Not only have they been the main sponsor, but the Manchester team come along to the hospice to volunteer and help in all sorts of ways.


We cannot thank the chefs enough for the fantastic support. Without them, this wonderful evening could not have taken place. We are so pleased that so much money has been raised for the hospice, which is our adopted local charity, added David Allanson, Area Director for Manchester, East Lancashire and East Cheshire.


The hospice has to raise nearly 6,000 every day in order to provide its care free of charge.
The chefs who prepared the fantastic food were: Adam Townsley of The Malmaison hotel, Liverpool; Richard Maun of Stanneylands, Wilmslow; Craig Malone from Nunsmere Hall, Oakmere; David Gale of the Hilton Hotel, Manchester; and Aiden Byrne of the Church Green, Lymm
