Tennis legends from around the world descended upon Cheshire to play at the Boodles Classique at the De Vere Mottram Hall hotel near Prestbury.

Previous Grand Slam winners including 1996 Wimbledon champion Richard Krajicek, and Mark Phillippoussis and Cedric Pioline, battled it out on the court at Mottram Hall during the three-day tournament.

The event culminated in a glamorous black tie ball on the Saturday evening. Vicky Collins, tournament director of The Boodles Classique said: It was fantastic to bring players of such high calibre to Cheshire. They are all still very competitive and, despite the rain, we enjoyed some exciting tennis.

The event, supported by Cheshire Life, enjoyed partnership with several high profile sponsors including Etihad Airways, Charles Stanley stockbrokers and The Haulfryn Group, owners of the Warren holiday park in Abersoch.
