Local group hit the high notes

Wilmslow Ladies Circle held a musical event at the Deanwater Hotel, raising £1,000. The money will be shared between Prevent Breast Cancer, Stockport Without Abuse, The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust and Nordoff Robbins. The occasion was attended by 96 guests who enjoyed a drinks reception while browsing stalls from local businesses before sitting down for lunch. Guest speaker and Rock Choir leader Kathryn Davis, who runs six choirs in the North West and manages nine others in the North, proved anyone can enjoy music and had guests singing and dancing after lunch.

Louise Croombs, chairman of the event, said: ‘Ladies Circle is about fun, friendship and fundraising and this event had all of those things. To have fun and help others at the same time is the best feeling. We rocked it.’
