A black tie charity evening was held at the Point at Lancashire Cricket Club in Manchester. The Three Charities Gala dinner was in support of Kidneys For Life, the Noor Foundation and the Graham Layton Trust.

Over 430 people attended from across Cheshire, Lancashire and Yorkshire and enjoyed a three course meal before entertainment from a band and troop of Bollywood dancers. An auction and raffle, with prizes that included a holiday to Turkey, a House of Lords VIP tour and a piece of Kiswah, the cloth that covers the Kaaba in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, successfully helped to raise over £162,000 for the three charities.

Mohammed Ishtiaq, who helped to organise and co-sponsor the event said: ‘We expected a little over £100,000, but we are bowled over by people’s generosity. It was a fantastic evening and event.’
