A ladies afternoon tea was held at the Alderley Edge Hotel in aid of raising money for The Christie and its Proton Beam Therapy research.

Compared by Chelsea Norris from Key 103, ladies enjoyed a fashion show by Zeynep Kartal from Manchester, who supplies dresses to celebrities such as Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Coleen Rooney. Zeynep also donated six vouchers worth £250 each, which were randomly stuck underneath ladies chairs for them to find when announced following the show. An auction raised £4,760.

This afternoon tea was the penultimate event in organiser Myra Garlick’s 60th year of fundraising, with her last event being the personal challenge of walking the Great Wall of China with her husband David in September.
