From vintage tractors to a dancing dog display, the Mottram Summer Show had something for everyone – especially equestrian enthusiasts.

The event, at the Old Hall showground, Mottram near Hyde, attracted Cheshire’s proud owners and trainers and their horses to a number of classes including show jumping, foreign breeds and even a ‘jump for charity’ team event.

Vistors also enjoyed live entertainment including brass and jazz bands, and took a break from the agricultural events browsing over 80 country arts and crafts stands. Families rounded off their fun at the show with a trip to the miniature fun fair.

Malcolm Lewis, president of the Mottram and District Agricultural Society said: ‘Our aim at Mottram is to try and provide something for all the family for a really great day out. The show went really well with entries in horse, sheep agriculture and handicraft sections all up on last year.

‘The only disappointment was the adverse weather conditions but on the whole the society was pleased with the organisation and running of the show. We are already planning for a bigger and better show next year.’
