A taste of Germany was brought to The Mere Golf Resort and Spa in Knutsford at a Bavarian Christmas themed ball in aid of the Children's Adventure Farm Trust.

Patrons Noddy (of Slade fame) and Suzan Holder joined over 300 guests for the event, which raised £130,000 for the Millington-based charity. CAFT staff dressed in lederhosen and everyone enjoyed a warming glass of mulled wine. Lively music came from Brasswurst, an authentic oom-pah band.

Events fundraiser Pippa Watton said: ‘Every year we are blown away by the generosity of our guests and this year was no exception. This money will make such a huge difference to the children visiting us.’
