Just weeks after we launched our annual search for Cheshires best amateur photographers we have already seen some stunning entries. People of all ages have been out and about with their cameras capturing the wintry beauty across the county.

And because high quality cameras are now on mobile phones and tablet devices, there is no need to lug hefty camera equipment everywhere you go, so there really is no excuse not to get involved.

This years competition is once again sponsored by Wilkinsons Cameras and as ever they have selected some wonderful prizes to give away to whoever takes the three pictures chosen by our panel of judges.

The winner will receive a Nikon D3200 & AF-S 18-55 VR worth 445, second prize is a Nikon 1 J2 & 10-30mm White worth 400 and our third place photographer will win a Nikon Coolpix S9300 Red worth 200 (all prices correct as of January).

The judging panel will be led by Cheshire Life editor Louise Taylor who will choose the winners along with the magazines picture editor John Cocks and David Pilkington from Wilkinsons Cameras.

Louise said: Judging our annual photographic competition is one of the highlights of the year. It is a joy to be able to look at the hundreds of wonderful pictures taken by our talented readers of the county they love.
