Help us create a comprehensive photographic record of Cheshire in 2012

Whether you were given a new camera for Christmas or are sticking doggedly to your box brownie, there has never been a better time to take some pictures. Our website is already home to a large gallery of pictures taken right across Cheshire, Manchester and North Wales, from the Peak District to Snowdonia and from bustling town centres to our glorious tranquil countryside.

But we want to make it even better and to do that we need your help. This is a big year nationally, the eyes of the world will be turned on the UK for the Olympics and for the Queens Diamond Jubilee. Both will have widespread repercussions across Cheshire, with events taking place all over the area and we want to mark the year by creating a comprehensive picture of how our county looked in this historic year.

Whether its a picture of your house, your street, your village green, your city centre, or your favourite countryside idyll, it will help us capture a permanent record of the way our county looks and the way we live in 2012.

To add your photo to the hundreds already on our website go to and click on the Send us your photos link on the left of the page.

You will be asked to register, which is free and also allows you to comment on articles and photographs on the site, to enter competitions and to take advantage of special offers.
