4 properties with room for a tennis court for sale in Cheshire

With Wimbledon dominating at least half of July, we're courting notions of nets of our own - so we've found four properties you'll Love All about.
Where: Beeston, nr Tarporley
Nothing says English Summer quite like donning your whites, taking advantage of a break in the inevitable rain and knocking a few balls around a tennis court. Even better, we say, if the tennis court is your own. Which, happily, it would be if you were to own any of the four following properties, including the breathtaking Beeston Hall (above) just outside the chic village of Tarporley. It's not difficult to fit in a tennis court when you're sporting just short of nine acres, along with manicured gardens, paddocks, outbuildings, a small lake and stunning views across the Cheshire Plains towards Beeston and Peckforton Castles. Should you want to put the racquet down and retire indoors you'll find generous, beamed reception rooms and six bedrooms, two of which are ensuite (we'd personally plump for a lake view room). It's beautiful of course and grand certainly - but thanks to the exposed beams and good proportions it doesn't feel overwhelming.
It's packed with charm, including a farmhouse-style kitchen that comes with an Aga set into a brick inglenook. Although you can forget about that for a while - every tennis fan knows champagne and strawberries are the stuff champions are made of.

The Pavilion, Wirral
Every modern country home - this spectacular, sprawling pile was built in 1994 in the grounds of a 19th-century manor house on the Frankby/Caldy border - needs its own tennis court and, in this case, its own helicopter hangar too.
It also has an indoor pool, sweeping grounds totalling almost five acres and a self-contained annexe beyond the four bedrooms (they're more like suites) in the main house. Room for Granny when she fancies a game.

Pewit House, Hunsterson
In a tranquil location, down a no-through lane, near Nantwich, Pewit House is a fabulous six-bedroom former farmhouse packed with incredible period features. The floodlit tennis courts are a short stroll away as is your helicopter landing pad.
It also comes with paddocks, outbuildings ripe for development and an actual moat complete with pretty wooden bridge to cross it. It's a six-acre slice of countryside heaven. Game, set, match.

Adders Moss, Over Alderley
Where: Over Alderley
Beyond your wrap-around gardens and outdoor pool, down your manicured lawns, towards your pretty lily pond you'll find your delightful Astroturf tennis court.
Once you've had a rally or two take a stroll around the six acres, the horse for a trot around the paddock (the six-strong stable block ensures there's room for him too) or head back to your nine-bedroom house for a shower in one of the five bathrooms. Ace.
