Tuesday 13th March is set to be one of the biggest events in the gardening calendar when garden centres, suppliers and customers around the country join together for Garden Re-leaf day; a day filled with fun and fundraising events to raise money for the garden industry charity Greenfingers.

Bents Garden & Home is just one of the many garden centres getting involved with Garden Re-leaf and has planned a day full of events and activities which will not only raise money for Greenfingers, but will also kick start the gardening season off in style.

Bents will be holding a charity raffle with some great prizes including a signed Manchester United top (signed by Vidic with authenticity certificate) and iPod shuffle. The Centres resident Plant Doctor will be on hand throughout the day to administer tips and advice as well as planting demonstrations and some fantastic plant offers.

Visitors to Bents are also invited to take part in what is hoped will be a record breaking quiz with participants from throughout the UK taking part in Garden Re-Leafs Celebrity Gardening Quiz. The quiz will feature questions set and recorded by some of the countrys best known gardeners including Alan Titchmarsh, Peter Seabrook and Christine Walkden.

Says Matthew Bent, MD of Bents Garden & Home: Greenfingers is a great charity which creates magical gardens at Childrens Hospices around the UK, providing fantastic spaces for children to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

We all hope Garden Re-leaf will follow in the footsteps of Comic Relief and Sports Relief and raise money lots of money for Greenfingers. But it will also mark the start of the gardening season and were hoping we can engage with gardeners of all ages, young and old. Were all really looking forward to the 13th March and hope lots of people will come along and join in the fun.

The quiz will take part in The Fresh Approach family area starting at 6pm. Tickets are 3 per person including a free tea or coffee (with all proceeds to Greenfingers) with a maximum of 6 per team. To guarantee your place call customer services on 01942 266 300
