Cheshire is about to become a land of merriment, why not pick up a host of magical gifts at local markets, fairs and shopping events?

5-6 November


The perfect way to kick off your festive celebrations is by visiting Wirral Bazaar's exciting collection of over 60 handpicked stalls offering a variety of lovely Christmas gifts and treats. The fair will be held at Thornton Manor and admission is £5 with all proceeds raised going to North West Cancer Research.

8 November - 21 December


One of the most anticipated Christmas markets will take over Manchester's city centre from early November. There are more than 300 yuletide stalls and chalets offering crafted seasonal gifts, from handmade jewellery to artisan leather bags. You can also enjoy the mouth-watering international food on offer, from Spanish paella to a more traditional hog roast. Delicious.

12-13 November


The elegant, stately home will host a spectacular evening of Christmas shopping. The event will include over 60 exquisite handpicked stalls with plenty of delicious food and stunning gifts available to purchase. The whole event is in aid of The Joshua Tree charity and is run by volunteers. The full cost of the tickets and 10% of the fair profits will go directly to the charity.

15 November - 23 December 


Mulled wine and other festive tipples will be on offer throughout Liverpool's Christmas Markets leaving you feeling warm, spirited and ready for this season. Aside from the shopping, check out this year's Ski Lodge and its karaoke cable cars. Mariah, George, we'll leave it to you.

You'll have plenty of opportunity to pay a visit to Chester's magical Christmas market across November and December. There will be over 70 traditional wooden chalets in the streets of Chester surrounding a signature sparkling, Christmas tree. On offer you will find local and regional products like clothes, jewellery and unique personalised gifts for your loved ones.

22-24 November


Capesthorne Hall, Macclesfield 

The family-owned stately home will open their doors this winter to welcome visitors for a festive experience like no other. Guests will be entertained by local musicians, school choirs and given the chance to explore all the Christmas craft stalls in the marquee. In the Butlers Pantry there will be plenty of festive treats including hot meat rolls, soup, mulled wine and mince pies.


26 November - 29 December 


Buzzing, bustling Altrincham Market will be taking on a festive twist from late November.  Here you'll be able to find contemporary cards and decorations as well as a range of Christmas themed workshops, including wreath making. The Market House Kitchens will also be offering festive menus to satiate the late night shopper... Well, all that browsing builds up an appetite!

30 November-1 December


Bring the festive spirit to life at Knutsford annual Christmas street market this December. Over 100 traders will be attending with their finest selection of food, drinks, crafts, gifts and so much more.

6 December


Make some precious memories at Sandbach's very own Christmas Market. There will be more than 100 stalls to explore around the market square, High Street and Market Hall. Alongside doing some Christmas shopping you can also enjoy the smell of roasting chestnuts, whilst listening to the carol singers and sipping on mulled wine.


6-8 December


Tatton Park Gardens, Knutsford 

Make your festive season extra special with a trip to Tatton Park's Christmas Fair. You will have a chance to explore over 40 stalls offering artisan food and gifts that will make perfect treats for your loved ones. The fair is free for all, but normal admission charges apply for the venue, and you can explore the parkland afterwards.


7-8 December


Frodsham Centre, Frodsham 

The beautiful market town of Frodsham will be hosting a fun, traditional Christmas fair in the community centre. Here you can discover original art, handcrafted items such as toys and clothes, and plenty of other gems perfect for gifts. You definitely won't be able to resist indulging a little with some mulled wine and a wide selection of delicious food. u


22 December


Taking place on the cobbled streets of Macclesfield town centre, the festive edition of the monthly Treacle Market will be full of seasonal delights. From bespoke pottery and vintage finds to home-grown honey and unique flavoured gins, you'll find something to put a smile on your face this Christmas. Wander through the lanes and you'll also discover a range of food stalls to whet your appetite.
