First established in 1868, Stephensons is an independent, family-run catering equipment supplier that has been supporting the northern catering and hospitality trade for 144 years.
Originally set up as a one-man market stall, the company now employs over 40 people at its site off Buxton Road in Stockport and boasts the largest catering showroom in the north.
The business is now led by the fifth generation of the family, Henry Stephenson, who took the helm of Managing Director in 2011.
Stephensons supplies a range of individuals, coffee shops, restaurants, bars, caterers and pubs throughout the North West. These include Mere Golf & Country club, Peckforton Castle, Earle and Nutters, in addition to national brands Piccolino, San Carlo and Robinsons Brewery. Following its expansion into the public sector last year, Stephensons also works with and supplies schools, colleges and universities across Lancashire and Cheshire.
Specialising in restaurant and bar equipment, Stephensons scours Europes largest trade shows to offer the latest and most innovative designs in crockery, cutlery and glassware to North West venues. In addition to its leading tableware brands including Churchill, Dudson and Artis, Stephensons also boasts an envious range of disposable catering products including Lotus Professional & Duni as well as cleaning supplies. With over 6,000 product lines in stock, it really is a one-stop shop for all catering needs.
As leaders in its field, Stephensons continuously seeks out and sources innovative new products to develop its collection. After almost 150 years in the industry, Stephensons has developed enduring relationships with manufacturers and importers, importing direct where appropriate, ensuring that latest innovations and competitive prices are relayed to its customers.
The Stockport-based company offers customers a flexible choice when it comes to purchasing its products. The Stephensons website, www.stephensons.com, allows customers to purchase equipment 24 hours-a-day, making it easier for businesses to replenish their stock quickly.
To complement its online offering, products can also be purchased through Facebook as Stephensons became the first supplier within the industry to launch its own store on the social networking site in 2011. Fans of the Stephensons Facebook page have the opportunity to buy the latest product ranges and benefit from exclusive offers - www.facebook.com/cateringequipmentsuppliers
For customers who prefer the more traditional approach, all product ranges can be viewed in the Stephensons annual catalogue, or by visiting the Stephensons showroom and cash and carry - the largest in the North - and see the products prior to purchase.
