STYLE OF VENUE
A cut above Indian thats clearly appealing to locals: Swadesh now has restaurants in Wilmslow, Didsbury and Manchester city centre. Dont expect cheap Curry Mile prices, but youll enjoy fabulous food in a fine dining setting.
ON THE MENU
Superior versions of Indian restaurant favourites, plus plenty more. Vegetarians are well catered for too. But as dedicated carnivores we recommend the following delicious dishes: Murgh Joshila Tikka - 6.25 starter featuring succulent meat marinated in yogurt, coriander, green chilli and peppercorn; Mass Ke Sule - 6.25 tasty starter of lamb tikka marinated in spicy yogurt; Adraki Chapen - 13.95 main course of rack of lamb in ginger and yogurt with garlic, chilli, nutmeg and cinnamon - satisfying.
DECOR
Chic: white leather chairs, dark wood tables, crystal wall hangings and gorgeous metal beaded curtains. No sign of flocked wallpaper.
AMBIENCE
Lively and welcoming. Customers nodding hello to fellow diners: clearly a popular place.
SERVICE
Exemplary: pleasant, attentive staff who know about the food theyre serving.
COST
Two of us dined royally on poppadums, starters, mains, desserts, and decent wine for 89.
