A family favourite, I live just five minutes away from Gusto, which makes it perfect for a family evening meal. My children can’t get enough of the rib-eye steak! The simplicity and the freshness of the food makes Gusto suitable for any occasion, plus, the interior is modern for me to take client for a meeting and feel special without breaking the credit card.

Yes, it is a long way to go for curry! A friend told me about this restaurant a couple of years ago and I have taken my family back several times and they love it as much as I do.

Ask the waiter for the mixed grill starter as it’s a great way to sample various ingredients used with differents flavour to whet your appetite. This was the most authentic curry I have tasted. The historic church building which houses the restaurant brings home the art and culture of the cuisine. I mustn’t forget the owner Naim Munshi who is a fantastic host.

The Grill on The Edge

I love this restaurant for the buzz; it’s always exciting meeting friends for a meal in such a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

The extensive menu includes dishes ranging from traditional classics to unusual culinary delights: from Thai fishcakes with sweet chili dip to steak sandwiches for the express lunch. But my all-time classic is the Crispy Calamari, which is a must every time I visit.

63 Degrees

20 Church Street, Manchester M4 1PN

A taste of Paris brought to you by the Moreau family based in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. At this family-owned restaurant, it is not just about cooking, it is the passion, the art that goes into the presentation makes it a wonderful experience.

I tend to go for the A la Carte menu. When my dessert arrived ‘Fondant au chocolat et croustillant noisette’ I just stared at it with excitement! The beauty of this dessert was irresistible, but eventually I had to force myself to eat this piece of art. Delicious! It melted in the mouth.

The Church Green

It is not often you meet the owner of a restaurant on your first visit and find them so friendly and attentive. Aiden Byrne’s place is my all-time favourite British restaurant. It has that touch of class. The food, the staff and the atmosphere is what makes this restaurant so special. There is so much to choose from. On seafood day I tend to go for mussels, followed by the whole filleted mackerel, but my visit would not be complete without old school sticky toffee pudding!
