Hearthrob chefs and a kitten shared their enthusiasm for one of Britains favourite foods with hundreds of visitors to the International Cheese Awards.

Sadly, the Nantwich Show, of which the cheese show is usually a component, was cancelled due to the run of wet weather, but grins like Cheshire cats were everywhere as celebrity chefs including Jean-Christophe Novelli, Gino DAcampo and James Martin entertained at the awards. All the TV chefs drew big crowds as they demonstrated their culinary skills using recipes which incorporated many of the scores of cheese varieties on display.

Atomic Kitten Liz McClarnon brought some glamour to the judging. The singer, whose passion for food is well-known since she won the BBCs Celebrity Masterchef, tasted over 20 varieties of cheese while judging the Peoples Choice category. The trophy was awarded to Cathedral City.
