The Cheshire Smokehouse took home the coveted Cheshire Food Hero of the Year 2010 award.
The Cheshire Smokehouse, who took home the coveted Cheshire Food Hero of the Year award. To say the win was a shock was an understatement. Jenny Taylor and Nathan Millar were grinning like Cheshire cats when the business, in Morley Green, near Wilmslow, was named as the recipient of this prestigious accolade.
The pair, who collected the award on behalf of fourth generation managing director of the family business, David Ward, could not hide their excitement.
Jenny, who worked as a carriage horse attendant before changing career and working her way up to assistant chef in the caf at the business, said: Its amazing. We just cant believe it. The family has worked so hard to grow the business and it is incredible news for them.
Were completely shell-shocked and all of the family will be really pleased. Theyve built it up over the years and for them to win this award is just amazing. We just cant believe it.
