Start 2017 as you mean to go on by visiting one of our county’s health and wholefood shops

Cheshire Organics, Lymm

This family business has been sourcing organic food since 1997 – it was the first business of its kind in the area. They supply hundreds of products – more than 800 in fact – with lots of fruit and vegetables as well as dairy, meat, bakery, grocery, personal care and household products. Food is sourced from local growers and is Soil Association accredited.

Honest to Goodness, Hoylake

Wirral’s only organic wholefood shop sells a vast range of organic foods fruit and vegetables, wines and beers, vegetarian and vegan foods as well as gluten-free options, vitamins and health supplements.

Chester Health Store, Chester

Launched in 2014 by Niki Davies, this popular business offers a range of herbal supplements and health food options. Niki has more than 20 years’ experience in health, nutrition and supplements and a vast knowledge of the products she supplies.

The Real Food Company, Alsager

The Real Food Company was founded in Congleton by new parents Carol and Nick, who were in search of the best food for their daughter, Silvie. It was first launched providing only vegetarian food and products, but after lots of research they decided meat should be an essential part of their diet. The Real Food Company ceased being a purely vegetarian establishment and added high quality locally-reared organic and pasture-fed meat to their range.

Today, and following a move to Alsager, Carol and Nick are dedicated to providing wholesome, healthy foods to keep people from the county and beyond eating well and fighting fit.

Demeter Wholefoods, Sandbach

Phillip Shallcross travelled widely around the world but decided to come back to Sandbach. Motivated and disappointed by where modern manufactured food was going, he worked hard to champion brown rice, wholemeal flour and wholemeal pasta and fruit and nuts, organically grown where feasible. His wholefoods shop also has a range of bodycare products, essential oils and medicinal herbs.

Bare Health, Congleton

Bare Health, Health Store and Holistic Treatment Centre is an independent healthy living store supplying whole foods, supplements and herbal remedies as well as natural and organic body care, sports nutrition, eco-household cleaning products, homeopathic remedies and flower essences.

Set in a beautiful building dating back to 1624, Bare Health is owned by Mel Ball and jointly run with mum Sue. Together they have over 30 years’ experience in the health food trade and as complementary therapists.
