Who will be the winners of the Cheshire Life Food and Drink Awards 2019? We want you to help us decide.
The search begins for the cream of Cheshire’s food and drink scene. Cheshire Life’s annual Food and Drink Awards reward those shining stars of the region’s dining establishments for their hard work, dedication and, of course, exceptional food and drink.
For the 2019 Cheshire Life Food and Drink Awards guests will gather at elegant Nunsmere Hall Hotel in Northwich on July 15th.
Lisa Robinson, General Manager at Nunsmere, said: ‘We’re very excited to be hosting Cheshire Life’s prestigious Food and Drink Awards at Nunsmere Hall Hotel on Monday 15th July 2019. This will be the 23rd year of the awards and we are delighted to be a part of it. We wish everyone a great evening and good luck to all the nominees.’
Cheshire Life’s panel of judges, led by the editor, is already secretly visiting local restaurants and bars but your help is invited.
Our Family Dining and Outstanding Customer Service Awards are for readers to decide.
We would also love you to nominate your favourites in the other categories, which are listed overleaf, as your views are important to us.
The glamorous black tie awards night would not be possible without the businesses who have continued to offer their support and we are proud to announce that once again our headline sponsor for the event is Stephenson’s.
Our other generous sponsors include Hallgarten Wines, Porsche Centre, Chester, Tea from the Manor, Slingsby and Total Foodservice.
Visit foodawards.cheshirelife.co.uk to tell us your favourites. Nominations will be live from Friday February 22nd and will close on March 31st.

2. Cheshire Life Dining Pub of the Year
Nominate your favourite pub in Cheshire. It should serve good beer, great food and give guests a warm welcome.
3. Cheshire Life Independent Retailer of the Year
Nominate your favourite deli, farm shop, baker or a similar independent food retailer who you think deserves this accolade.
4. North Wales Dining Excellence of the Year
This establishment must showcase the finest food in North Wales and can be a pub, restaurant or hotel.
5. Cheshire Life Food Hero of the Year
This person will have made a lasting and significant contribution to the food and drink community. It could be a celebrity, a critic, a barman, waiter or farmer who goes the extra mile to make a difference.
6. Cheshire Life Chef of the Year
Someone who has devoted themselves to the cause of serving the best possible food within the county.
7. Cheshire Life Tearoom/Cafe of the Year
Who serves the best tea or coffee and the nicest cakes or the best sandwiches in Cheshire?
8. City Restaurant of the Year
Nominate a restaurant in Manchester or Liverpool city centre which offers the best dining experience including food, décor and service.
9 Cheshire Life Food or Drink Product of the Year
Nominate your favourite food or drink product – whether it’s made by a Cheshire farmer, producer, retailer or manufacturer.
10. Cheshire Life Newcomer of the Year
This category is open to anyone in the food or drink industry who has started a new venture within the last 18 months. We want to know what impact they have made on the local community and whether they have started to achieve any success further afield. Are they helping to promote Cheshire food and drink to a new audience?
11. Cheshire Life Family Dining of the Year
We will be looking for a restaurant, café or pub which really meets the needs of family dining, by demonstrating attention to the requirements across the generations of diners both in terms of its food, atmosphere, entertainment, sense of theatre, and the variety of menu for guests regardless of age. The award reflects the whole experience, so it’s aimed at establishments that place a great emphasis on standards of service, both front of house and in the food preparation, as well as having a ‘certain something’ which makes it appeal to the whole family.
12. Outstanding Customer Service Award
Service has to be just right — not lacking, but not intrusive either. We want you to tell us about the place that blends superior levels of warmth and courtesy with knowledge and efficiency.
