Hotel Maes-y-Neuadd, Harlech
This historic hotel nestles on a wooded hillside with spectacular views of Snowdonias mountains and the Cardigan Bay coastline. The poetic Mansion in the Meadow has been welcoming visitors since the 14th century. And much of the character of the building remains, now carefully blended with 21st century comforts. The welcome is warm, the rooms comfortable, the food delicious and the service excellent.
Oyster Catcher, Rhosneigr, Anglesey
This is the Timpson shoe dynastys second hospitality venture in Anglesey: the stunning 3m conversion of the old Maelog Lake Hotel into this acclaimed pub, restaurant and chefs academy. The latter - taking its cue from Jamie Olivers project - has been a real labour of love. Traditional British delicacies with a contemporary twist not least oysters - alongside pasta and pizza are menu highlights amid spectacular seaside surroundings.
Manorhaus, Ruthin
Christopher Frost and Gavin Harriss combination of art and architecture with great contemporary food in their Georgian boutique restaurant with rooms in the historic centre of one of north Waless most attractive towns has really created the wow factor. Only the best will do here from Egyptian cotton and fluffy duvets in the individual bedrooms to the superb ingredients deployed in the conservatory restaurant.
The oyster catcher at Rhosneigr won our category but we did well to get in the finals with some amazing fellow finalists.
