High street shopping in Nantwich

Head over to this picturesque town this month for a night of great shopping and fashion

The charming streets of Nantwich are soon to be the backdrop for a fabulous Fashion Night Out event - a small scale version of style bible Vogue’s shopping bonanza.

The evening of November 13th promises to be the shopping event of the year in this town, with all the fashion shops in Hospital and Pillory Street taking part.

Organisers are promising an evening of fun, fashion and food with events taking place in each of the participating shops and indeed a Street Fashion Show throughout the day.

The idea is to celebrate the fashion and rich diversity of boutique shops in the town and as well as the chance to snap up that pretty party frock or essential coat, there’ll be product launches, special promotions and raffles to get everyone in the festive spirit.

This is the kind of event that is perfectly tailored to entice visitors who are as yet unaware of just what a fantastic shopping town Nantwich can be. From bijou boutiques to independent bookstores, you can be in a farm shop, tempted by sticky toffee puddings, craft ales, ice cream and artisan cheeses one minute and the next, browsing in a smart boutique, ready to update your wardrobe with a gorgeous new outfit.

In fact, there are not only plenty of independent shops to tempt visitors but the chance to do something a little different, so you may even want to book for a craft course workshop, either solo or with friends, ending up later in a bar or bistro for dinner, or head over to the bookshop for an author event or one of their supper club nights.

Every last Saturday of the month (except in December when it’s held the Saturday before Christmas) is a date for food lovers: that’s when Nantwich Farmers’ market showcases all the fabulous local produce derived from the double whammy of the area’s farming heritage with its cheese-making. The Nantwich Farmers’ Market attracts farmers, growers and producers from all over Cheshire attending in person to sell their produce direct to the public. Most of the produce has been grown, reared, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed by the stall holder.

This month too, there’s a treat for vintage lovers who can pop into the Christmas Artisan Handmade and Vintage Brocante Fair being held on November 15th at the Civic Hall, also a buzzing centre for theatre, film and stand-up comedy.
