A glamorous dinner dance at The Mere Golf Resort and Spa in Knutsford completed a year of fundraising by parents at Lady Barn House School, Cheadle.

Throughout the year the committee have raised £32,000, which has funded the school’s new state-of-the-art outdoor play area.

The pupils also chipped in with £4,500 of their own cash, raised through a variety of sponsored events.

Headmaster, Mark Turner, said: ‘Thanks to our fantastic parents we have been able to transform an unprepossessing piece of land into a wonderful new play trail which can be enjoyed by every child in the school.’
