Supporters of the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust raised £40,000 at a James Bond themed ladies lunch at the Mere Golf Resort and Spa, near Knutsford.

Some 350 guests were joined by the charity’s patrons Dame Sarah Storey, actor Jennifer James and Suzan Holder, who enjoyed a lively drinks reception, complete with Aston Martins and a delicious Mere Royale cocktail.

Guests were then treated to shopping and pampering followed by a two course lunch. Host Paul Sleem entertained the ladies throughout the afternoon, and there was a surprise appearance by the new Milk Tray man, Patrick McBride.
