It’s a season for all things squash, here are some smashing pumpkin events in Cheshire including pick your own farms, carving lessons and festivals.

The streets become covered in autumnal foliage and the sun prepares to turn in for winter, there has always been something enchanting about this season. For me, the best part has always been pumpkins, here are some of the best ways to get your dose of local pumpkin action in Cheshire.

 

14th October -31st October
Pumpkin Picking, Kenyon Hall
You can pick your own pumpkins from the pumpkin patch or select the one you want from a range of ready-picked pumpkins of all shapes, sizes and colours. You just pay according to size and the prices range from £1-£20. From the 16th October, there will be a designated area for carving your designs.

21st October - 29th October
Church Farm
Church farm will be hosting a range of Halloween themed events during half term, activities will include tractor rides, meerkat and goat feeding and puppet shows. You can pick your own pumpkin from over 2000 which are available. Pumpkins cost is not included in admission fee.

Spooktacular Fun on the Farm
Stocklet Farm Park in Arley will host a range of activities during the half term period including pumpkin carving, fancy dress competition and a chance to visit a sppoky house.

Malpas Pick Your Own Pumpkins
The Malpas Pick Your Own Pumpkins & Halloween Spooktacular at Ivy Rose Farm includes a spooky maize maze, bouncy castle and mini diggers.
There are thousands of pumpkins (£3.50 each) for you to choose from.

Jumping Jack-o-lanterns, Lyme Park
Lyme Park will be holding a spine-chilling Fright-fest with jumping Jack-o-lanterns. Join the fun at the Boiler Yard and carve some of the scariest pumpkins you could imagine. Booking is essential, so do book in advance. £4.50 per pumpkin

27th October

Pumpkins and Broomsticks, Delamere
Carve scary pumpkins, make your own witches’ broomstick using material found in the forest and don’t forget to take home your creations for Halloween. The event will end with a campfire where you can toast marshmallows and tell scary stories.

Knutsford Town’s Pumpkin Path
Knutsford prepares for its annual Pumpkin Path where children will be encouraged to find some spooky clues hidden around the town. The event takes place between 4pm-8pm.
