Whether you’re horse crazy or just along for the ride, equine events are an important part of the Cheshire social calendar.

20th - 23rd April

Kelsall Hill Horse Trials

The popular British Eventing Horse Trials spring event returns with a range of classes for competitors.



10th May

Boodles Ladies Day, Chester Racecourse

Boodles Ladies Day brings elegance and style to the May festival and is a popular event with racegoers and even a few celebrities. The stage is set for ladies to show off their outfits and, of course, for the jockeys and horses to display their skills.



11th - 13th May

Dodson & Horrell Chatsworth International Horse Trials

A three-day event of world-class equestrian sport held in the beautiful surroundings of Chatsworth. There will be elegant dressage and show jumping, alongside the exciting eventing challenge. As well as equestrian events, spectators can enjoy plenty of entertainment and activities and browse the shopping village.

26th May

MBNA Roman Day, Chester Racecourse

Enjoy a day of family friendly Roman themed activities at the Chester Races, Roman Day. Race day goers are encouraged to take pictures with Roman Legions dressed in authentic Roman clothing and equipment.



28th May

Warrington Horse Show

The Warrington Horse Show is a packed day of four-legged fun, with a host of showing classes to be judged, a programme of showjumping and arena shows, a dog show, a craft fair, farmers’ markets and so much more.



13th - 17th June

Bolesworth CSI**** International

Bolesworth International is one of the biggest equestrian events in the country. Its four-star international status places it on a par with Hickstead and Olympia as international competitors travel from across the world to take part. Spectators can enjoy four days of showjumping and entertainment, a dog show and some top notch food and drink treats in the Bolesworth Bistro, the champagne bar and food hall.



19th - 20th June

The Royal Cheshire Show

The Cheshire Show is an event that needs no introduction, the annual agricultural event has impressive equestrian events and is one of Cheshire’s most anticipated events on the social calander.



30th June  

Affiliated Dressage Competition

Reaseheath Equestrian Centre hosts a number of competitions throughout the year. This British dressage competition offers a structure for all abilities, ensuring there’s no pressure to rush up the grades until you prove you’re ready. Competitors will be competing in sections against riders of a similar ability.

7th - 8th September

The Roodee Challenge Cup Polo Weekend, Chester Racecourse

Chester Racecourse’ polo weekends make for memorable days out for the whole family. Enjoy the spectacular and exciting polo matches or relax pitch side and enjoy browsing the shopping village or sip on some Pimms from their food and drink outlets.



21st September

Kelsall Hill Horse Trials

The popular British Eventing spring event returns in 2018, as spectators can watch hundreds of horses take part in everything from dressage and showjumping to cross country. The trials also offer spectacular viewing opportunities as it is set in Delamere and visitors can see all of the action without moving set.
