So how do you pronounce Cholmondeley?

Cholmondeley lies close the the southern edge of Cheshire, close to the border of England and Wales and the north edge of Shropshire. The closest towns are Malpas (5 miles to the south west) and Nantwich (8 miles to the west).

The two most talked about topics on Cholmondeley are: the pronunciation (it’s Chum-lee) and the famous castle.

The castle is actually more of a modified mansion, built in the early 19th century on a much older building and is the seat of the Marquess of Cholmondeley.

You can visit the extensive Grade 2 listed gardens from April to October, you can also spot wildlife at Bickley Hall Farm on the Cholmondeley estate.

Why don’t you upload your images of Cholmondeley to the reader photo gallery?
