Footloose: The Musical

Based on the 1984 cult movie starring Kevin Bacon, this musical tells the story of city boy Ren, who has to move to a rural backwater in America where dancing is banned. Cast will feature Maureen Nolan as Vi Moore and Joshua Dowen as Ren.

The Band

This a new musical, produced by Take That, is about what it’s like to grow up with a boyband. It follows five 16 year-old friends in 1992, and then 25 years on, the now 40-something women, as they try once more to fulfil their dream of meeting their heroes. The Band will be played by the five winners of BBC’s Let It Shine.

Our Town

Our Town tells the story of Emily and George, two unremarkable teenagers growing up in a small New Hampshire town at the turn of the last century. The audience is invited to eavesdrop on this tightly wound community as events unfold across the course of a decade.

Last Train to Auschwitz

This play tells the story of a group of women’s journey into hell, where their final destination is the notorious concentration camp, Auschwitz. The emotional narrative is played out by Liverpool’s top acting talent including award-winning film actress, Crissy Rock.

This Irish dance musical features the three times Irish Dancing World Champion, James Keegan, along with a cast of 30 award-winning dancers and traditional Irish musicians. It tells the story of the world’s most famous ship from its beginning in a Belfast shipyard to its tragic end in the Atlantic Ocean.

Jimmy Carr: The Best Of, Ultimate, Gold, Greatest Hits Tour

Jimmy Carr has been on the stand-up scene for a decade and a half. This new tour features the greatest material from his career in one show.

Flashdance: The Musical

Returning to the UK for the first time since 2011, this performance will star Strictly favourite, Joanne Clifton, and singer-songwriter Ben Adams. It tells the story of 18-year-old Alex, a welder by day and ‘flashdancer’ by night, who dreams of going to the prestigious Shipley Dance Academy.

Son of a Preacher Man

X-factor finalist Diana Vickers will play the role of Kat in this heart-warming new musical. It features the soulful music of Dusty Springfield, with a book by Warner Brown and directed and choreographed by Craig Revel Horwood.

All or Nothing

All Or Nothing tells the electrifying yet bittersweet tale of four young men who became 1960s band, The Small Faces. Rocketed into the big time, they then discover the path to fantastic success is paved with exploitation, betrayal and ultimately tragedy.

The Great British Prom

The National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Anthony Inglis, celebrate music from across the home nations. They will be joined by Classical Brit Award winning Welsh male vocal group, Only Men Aloud, Soprano Annette Wardell and a traditional piped band. The evening will close with a firework display.

Halle: Classical Extravaganza

Mahler: Symphony No. 3

The first concert of the BBC Philharmonic’s season, they open with Mahler’s Third Symphony - a colossal work that tore up the rulebook and rewrote it for a new century. Nantwich Food Festival

Staged in the heart of the town centre, the festival features a cooking theatre alongside over 200 food and drink exhibitors from all over the country. Great British Bake Off winner, Candice Brown, will be headlining, cooking up some home comfort classics with a twist.

Clonter Fair

A day out for all the family, there will be a car boot sale, hand made craft and vintage clothes stalls, old fashioned fair games, live music and a fortune teller. Clonter will also be joining forces with the Congleton Beartown Classic Car Club, in aid of Cancer Research UK and Clonter Farm Music Trust where exactly half the proceeds will go to each charity.

Heritage Open Days: The Courthouse

The Courthouse looks into the story of one of the most brilliant but tragic characters of British history, Alan Turing, who was tried at the former Sessions Court for homosexual acts 65 years ago. Art installations and performances will be featured, alongside talks and demonstrations from Robert ‘Judge’ Rinder, Paul Kellar MBE, Sir Dermot Turing and Jonathan Swinton.

Heritage Open Days: Strawberry Studios

Moor Art Knutsford

Local artist Louise Crawford is participating in the Knutsford community event, “Moor Art Knutsford”, in tandem with the national heritage open day. Louise is based in Knutsford and London, and has recently been progressing her style of work at the Slade School of Fine Art. Investigating colour relationships, materiality and character of colour -based on the affect colour can have on the viewer; Louise created work inspired by Van Gough’s paintings.
