Pride and Prejudice
This is a special indoor performace of Chapterhouse Theatre Company’s take on one of Jane Austen’s most loved books. Meet heroine Elizabeth Bennet in this brand-new adaptation that also celebrates the 200th anniversary of the author’s death.

The Wizard of Oz
Former Eastenders’ actress Cheryl Fergison will return to play the Wicked Witch of the West in this exciting performance of a classic tale. Charlotte Gallagher returns to the role of Dorothy, joining Toto and all her friends Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion as they journey down the Yellow Brick Road to The Emerald City.

This critically acclaimed and record-breaking theatre production returns to Manchester in August to complete its national tour. Sheridan Smith reprises her smash hit performance in the role of Fanny Brice, and playing opposite her is Darius Campbell as Nick Arnstein.

The Folksy Theatre returns to Port Sunlight to perform more outdoor Shakespeare, filled with live music, bold characters and audience interaction. Twin siblings, Viola and Sebastian, are separated in a shipwreck and Viola takes on the appearance of a man to be accepted to work in Duke Orsino’s household. Bring along picnics, blankets and folding chairs to enjoy the open-air performance.

Manchester Jazz Festival
Celebrating its 22nd festival in 2017, this event is accessible to all and mostly free. The festival features 10 days of contemporary jazz from the North West, around the UK and abroad with national premières of original work and international debuts.

G4: Under the Stars
The multi-platinum selling vocal harmony group make their debut at Gawsworth as part of their garden theatre programme. The four-piece, plus band, string section and guests, will perform their classic releases of Bohemian Rhapsody, My Way and Nessun Dorma. There will also be support from the Macclesfield Male Voice Choir.

This feel-good festival showcases all the fantastic things that Liverpool has to offer, with a wide array of live entertainment, food and drink and activities and attractions. The city centre will come alive with the sounds of some of the best buzz-bands and rising local artists on the main stage in Derby Square.

Toots and the Maytals
Ska and reggae legends, Toots and the Maytals, return to touring after a three year break. Formed in the early 1960s, the band were key figures in popularizing reggae music and will perform a number of classics from across their back catalogue.

Astle Park Traction Engine Rally

Berkeley Group Pony Club Championships

Cheshire Game and Country Show
With three main arenas, displaying everything from horse boarding to terrier racing, this event showcases many countryside activities. The show, now into its 10th year, also hosts the 13th English Open Chainsaw Carving competition, featuring carvers from around the world.

Cheshire Classic Car and Motorcycle Show
This established classic vehicle event attracts 400-500 display vehicles in a picturesque settings. The courtyard directly outside Capesthorne Hall will also be filled with stunning vehicles from the Mercedes Benz Owners Club.

Buxton Comedy Festival
This inaugural event is the brainchild of Buxton Opera House. Many of the events will take place here and at the Pavilion Arts Centre, including Friday night’s fusion of comedy and music from Lancashire Hotpot, I’m a Celebrity star Joel Domett on the main stage Saturday and comedian Jimmy Carr headlining Sunday.

Manchester Open Air Theatre
Five classic tales will be brought to life in a pop-up 500 seat outdoor theatre this summer. Presented by Northern Rep, Manchester Open Air Theatre will stage Macbeth, The Jungle Book, The Importance of Being Earnest, Peter Pan and Hamlet, presented in rep over five weeks. The same core company of actors, stage managers, designers and director will create and perform all the of the shows.

The world’s biggest 80s music festival returns for the fourth year. Rewind North promises fantastic performances from the Village People, Sister Sledge and rockers Status Quo, plus a host of other artists including The Farm’s Peter Hooton, Level 42, Kim Wilde, Peter Hook and The Light.

This weekend-long festival enables families to step out of their day to day lives and escape into a wonderland of world class literature, arts, theatre, dance, music, comedy and creative pursuits together.
