Christmas tis the season to indulge in all things festive, including plenty of celebratory drinks. It seems that Manchester’s bar scene is also getting into the festive spirit, as many of them have introduced special Christmas cocktails to help you celebrate the holiday season in style.

'Elixir of Life' at Tattu
A cocktail with the moniker of ‘Elixir of Life’ was always going to grab our attention. This smoky cocktail on the Tattu winter cocktail menu contains Jinzu Gin, Elderflower and Vanilla.
‘Sloe Gin & Winter Tonic’ at The Botanist
A festive slant on the G&T and a great alternative to mulled wine, the Sloe Gin & Winter Tonic combines Sip Smith Sloe Gin, Christmas Spiced Tonic and a dash of rhubarb bitters.
‘Mulled Sangria’ at El Gato Negro
Chocolate and Orange are classic Christmas flavours, the Clemen-time from El Gato Negro contains brandy, rum, chocolate and orange. If you want bring an Iberican flavour your own Christmas celebrations, you can try their mulled sangria recipe.

Back by popular demand, the Cranble is the perfect cocktail for gin lovers as it’s made up of cranberry infused gin, lemon, sugar syrup and creme de mure all garnished with cranberries soaked in gin.
‘Old Saint Nick’ at Cloud 23
This fruity number on the winter cocktail menu at Cloud 23 Bar contains Ketel 1 Vodka, blackberry liqueur, elderflower liqueur, a dash of lemon and a cute red and white candy cane. We think that given the choice, Santa would much prefer this to a glass of sherry.
‘Xmas Trifle’ at The Alchemist
There was a time when a trifle was a staple item at Christmas familyb gatherings, while your Nan may have laced the caloric dessert with way too much sherry, the Xmas Trifle at the Alchemist has a Italian Aperol, Jamaican Appleton Estate Rum, white chocolate cream topped with a drop of fizz.

If you’re heading to Manchester to visit the German Christmas Markets, there really is only one bar to visit. The Bavarian-themed Albert’s Schloss is just a short walk from the heart of the action and this year they have a full winter cocktail menu; the Hansel and Gretel combines Martel cognac, custard, cinnamon, egg white, star anise.
