We are very proud to have been awarded Life Magazines’ prestigious accolade to add to our achievements. In the 28 years Plas Bodegroes has been open, we have won Life magazines restaurant of the Year twice before, as well as a Michelin star for 14 years, 3 AA rosettes, Good food Guide UK Restaurant of the Year and numerous other food, service and wine awards. Our accommodation has been similarly highly rated - we have now achieved The Visit Wales/AA 5 star Restaurant with Rooms standard and gold award for 9 years running.

Plas Bodegroes is still run personally by founding owners Chris and Gunna Chown. Chris’s kitchen team offer cooking based upon the modern interpretation of traditional Welsh fare, using the wealth of local ingredients available to us. Our coastal location means that we have superb fish and seafood, including hand dived Cardigan Bay scallops, line caught seabass and day boat crab and lobster. Local farms supply top quality welsh Black beef, mountain and salt marsh lamb, and free range poultry and game along with prize winning Welsh cheeses.

Gunna is one of the UK’s most respected hostesses, and she and her friendly but professional staff offer the highest standard of service in the two dining rooms. The modern décor of these rooms accords with the elegance but belies the age of the house, and the Welsh theme is enhanced by a stunning collection of local art. The ten individually designed bedrooms are all ensuite, all with bath and shower, and some have separate walk-in showers. Two rooms are suitable for family use, and well-behaved dogs are also allowed in most rooms.

The gardens are delightful. Fronted by an avenue of magnificent old beech trees, the manor house has a verandah on three sides festooned with roses and wisteria. In addition there is a courtyard garden leading off the private dining room, ideal for parties of up to 24. Further afield the spectacular Llyn Peninsula offers beautiful scenery, sandy beaches and great walking on the Wales coastal path. A wide variety of sports are available locally and of course the popular resort of Abersoch is just five miles away.

Plas Bodegroes is open from March to November inclusive. Bedrooms are open from Tuesday to Saturday, and rates are from £140 to £190 per night B&B per room. In addition we offer excellent value midweek breaks comprising Dinner, Bed and Breakfast for two or more nights, priced from £190 for two per night. Four course Dinner from Tuesday to Saturday is £48.50, and Sunday Lunch is £24.50. Reservation by telephone essential.

We look forward to welcoming you to Plas Bodegroes!
