There were rich pickings for guests who joined Bollington based Fruits of the Forage for a banquet with a difference

Fruits of the Forage showed guests the amazing flavours that can be found in the wild at their latest forage course and banquet in beautiful Bollington.

The event, which includes a foraging walk, a three course meal with wine, beer and liqueurs, a cookery demonstration is all part of their expansion plans involving courses, pop-up restaurants and brewing.

Fruits of the Forage are also increasing their creative range of preserves and cordials and are building up their presence on Cheshire’s deli counters with products such as their Slow Seville Marmalade, which recently won a bronze at the Dalemain World Marmalade Awards.

Fruits of the Forage’s Frederick Thorneycroft, who helps to run the courses at Ingersley Vale community garden with his brother, Bertie, says that the preserves side of the business is already going from strength to strength.

‘Our courses are a local wild food banquet of simple, practical food that tastes amazing,’ he explains.

‘We run the local community garden which provides the ingredients and a great location for the courses. The course includes a foraging walk and a three-course meal with wine, beer and liqueurs, a cookery demonstration, and a wild goodie bag to take home with recipes, preserves and wine. You will leave with the knowledge to identify and cook three different plants with fantastic recipes you are certain to want to show off.’

Fruits of the Forage’s next foraging days will be at Ingersley Vale community garden in Bollington on July 10, August 13, September 25 and October 16. w
