Cheshire Smokehouse

There are lots of reasons to visit this popular Cheshire business, whether it is for smoked food, cakes, great wines or a bite to eat. Another is The Butchery, which sells great quality meats and fantastic game prepared by experienced butchers who know their craft.

The business was established over 100 years ago by John William Ward, who learned the craft of smoking in Canada. He set up his first small business in Cheetham Hill in 1907 and the company is still in the family. The skills of the trade have been passed down the line through the generations to the current owner Darren Ward - the founder’s great grandson.
